How do you use the hydraSense Soft Comfort Tip Nasal Aspirator?

The hydraSense Soft Comfort Tip Nasal Aspirator and its filters were developed with pediatricians. It is a gentle and hygienic way to remove mucus from your baby's nose.

The aspirator allows you to apply gentle suction to clear little nostrils of mucus. The Soft Comfort Tip Nasal Aspirator Kit contains the aspirator, 5 vials of saline solution, 5 hygienic filters and a storage case.

Usage

Directions:

For use with adult supervision. Before use, rinse the hydraSense Soft Comfort Tip Nasal Aspirator with hot water and dry thoroughly.

  1. Place a clean filter in the filter chamber and reconnect the nasal aspirator.
  2. Use the hydraSense® Nasal Care Single-Use Vial to liquefy mucus prior to aspiration. Break off one hydraSense® Single-Use Vial from the strip and twist the tamper-evident tip to open (do not use if vial was previously opened).
  3. For the left nostril, lay the child on his/her back with the head tilted to the right. Carefully place the vial tip in the left (upper) nostril, and apply 1-2 drops by pressing gently on the vial. For the right nostril, lay the child on his/her back with the head tilted to the left and repeat these steps.
  4. Use hydraSense Soft Comfort Tip Nasal Aspirator:
    • Place the tip of the aspirator at the entrance of the child's nostril and inhale through the mouthpiece to gently draw out the mucus. Mucus will be collected in the hygienic filter and cannot pass through the inhalation tube. Repeat for the other nostril. Gently lift the child to allow any remaining mucus to drain.
  5. Moisten a clean tissue with the solution from the hydraSense® Nasal Care Single-Use Vial and gently wipe the baby's nostrils.
  6. After each use, unclip the nasal aspirator at its base, remove and discard the used filter, and rinse the aspirator with hot water and dry. Do not sterilize or boil the aspirator.

For infants and children 6 months of age and older: use as needed, no more than 6 times a day. For children under 6 months, ask a pediatrician before use. Discard vials after opening; do not reuse opened vials.

What's the difference between hydraSense® and other saline nasal products on the market?

hydraSense® nasal sprays and vials are composed of naturally sourced seawater from the Bay of Saint-Malo, France. Every drop of seawater in our sprays and vials comes from the Bay of Saint-Malo, France, where powerful tides and currents constantly renew the seawater, creating a wealth of naturally occurring minerals. We then take this mineral-rich seawater and purify it to remove impurities. The result is a drug-free product made of purified seawater to hydrate dry and uncomfortable nasal passages so you can feel better when you need it.

As a result, hydraSense® is a high-quality product with all the benefits of one of the most powerful tides in the world.

Other saline nasal washes on the market are made from purified water, sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate.

What are the ingredients in each of the hydraSense® products?

The hydraSense® nasal mists are isotonic or hypertonic solutions made of purified naturally sourced seawater from the Bay of Saint-Malo, where powerful tides and currents constantly renew the seawater, creating a wealth of naturally-occurring minerals. hydraSense® Eucalyptus Nasal Mist also contains eucalyptus and wild mint scents.

The hydraSense® DualCleanse Nasal Rinse Kit contains:

  • 1 squeeze bottle with soft nozzle
  • 60 pre-measured salt packets

Each salt packet contains: magnesium chloride, sodium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, potassium chloride.

For adults using the hydraSense® DualCleanse Nasal Rinse Kit:

Before use, wash each piece of the device and rinse thoroughly with distilled water or previously boiled water.

  1. Pour the contents of 1 pre-measured hydraSense Nasal Salt Packet into the hydraSense® DualCleanse Nasal Rinse bottle.
  2. Fill to the water line with 8 FL OZ (240 mL) of room temperature distilled water or tap water previously boiled for 3-5 minutes and then cooled to room temperature. This will create an isotonic solution for rinsing.
You can choose either the gravitational or squeeze mode, according to your preference.
    For Gravitational Mode:
    1. Fasten the nozzle to the collar without installing the tube (for the gravitational mode).
    2. Screw the collar to the bottle.
    3. Place one finger over the nozzle and shake to mix the solution until contents dissolve.
    4. Adjust the intensity of the flow by rotating the nozzle from 1 to 3 drops (gentle to normal).
      • Test the temperature by putting 1 drop on your wrist; solution must be room temperature (59°-86°F). Do not use cold or hot water as this may cause you to experience a burning sensation.
      • Bend your head forward over a sink and tilt your head gently to the right. Place the nozzle in your left nostril while keeping your mouth slightly open. Do not hold your breath.
    5. Turn the bottle upside down and begin rinsing by squeezing the bottle; the solution will follow the curves of the bottle tip to your tilted head and gradually rinse your left nostril, draining through the right nostril. Repeat the same procedure for the opposite nostril by tilting your head to the left and placing the nozzle in your right nostril.
      • Use approximately 1/2 of the volume of the solution per nostril.
      • Gently blow your nose with a clean tissue.
      • Discard any unused solution in the bottle and any opened salt packets.
    For Squeeze Mode:
    1. Fasten the nozzle to the collar with the tube correctly attached (for the squeeze mode).
    5. Hold the bottle upright, and begin rinsing by squeezing the bottle; the solution will follow the curves of the bottle tip to your tilted head and gradually rinse your left nostril, draining through the right nostril.

After every use, wash each piece of the device in hot, soapy water, rinse well and place on a clean paper towel to air dry. Store in a clean environment.

hydraSense® Eucalyptus Nasal Mist is made with hypertonic seawater solution, which has a higher salt concentration than that found in the body for a more sensorial experience. Seawater

What is the advantage of the seawater from Saint-Malo?

Seawater all over the world is of different quality, depending on the power of the tides. In the Bay of Saint-Malo, the tides are very powerful, which means that the current constantly regenerates its mineral salt content.

hydraSense® nasal sprays and vials are composed of naturally sourced seawater from the Bay of Saint-Malo, France.

What does isotonic mean?

Isotonic means the salt concentration in the seawater solution is equal to that found in the body to provide a comfortable experience. This makes isotonic hydraSense® an option to hydrate and soothe dry and uncomfortable nasal passages.

To create our range of isotonic seawater products, we desalinate the 100% naturally sourced seawater through electrodialysis until it reaches 9g/L sodium chloride, and purify it to remove impurities.

Our isotonic hydraSense® seawater solutions include: Nasal Care Single-Use Vials, Ultra-Gentle Mist, and Gentle Nasal Mist.

What does hypertonic mean on the Eucalyptus® Nasal Mist?

Hypertonic means the salt concentration in the seawater spray has a higher salt concentration than that found in the body for a more sensorial experience.
